What is the difference between an a antigen and molecular test?

There are various types of tests available for detecting viruses that cause COVID-19. Molecular tests identify the genetic material of the virus. Antigen tests, such as the INDICAID™ COVID-19 Rapid Antigen At-Home Test, detect proteins from the virus. However, due to the lower sensitivity of antigen tests, they are more likely to produce a false negative result for COVID-19 compared to molecular tests.

Who can perform the nasal swab from the Indicaid Covid-19 Rapid Antigen At-Home Test?

Anyone age 14 or older can self test using INDICAID™ COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test kit on their own, and an adult (age 18 or older) should collect the nasal swab sample from children ages 2 to 13 years old and then perform the test on behalf of the child. Note that this test kit is not approved for use with children under the age of 2.

Can I travel internationally with this test?

Yes, this test is safe to travel with and can be packed in check-in luggages or carry-on baggages. It is designed to be slim and portable for travel purposes. If you are traveling to very cold or very hot places, please be mindful to keep the test stored between 36°F - 86°F.

Got sick suddenly Friday evening. Felt like the flu, until the next morning when my symptoms changed. I have a CT scan on Monday, so decided to purchase a test just in case so I knew whether or not I should reschedule (was told I'd be fine if it was just the flu). Full test results are available in 20 minutes, but both tests showed positive almost immediately. Woof. Guess I'm rescheduling that CT!

Good Product but have your Readers Handy

Bought last year and about to expire next month. Elderly neighbor with diabetes told me she had the flu with 102F fever so I took this covid test to her. The instructions are in such fine print that she could not read it and the pictures confused her. I took the parts of 1 of the two tests and explained everything, especially the part about the double cap on the vial. I left. She called a few minutes later and said the 2 bars indicating positive for covid showed clearly within 2 minutes of the 20 minute wait time. Considering this was 1 month from expiring, I consider that a good product.
